Junior Financial Controller, Accounting to Reporting

Purpose of the role


The main purpose of the role is acting as an independent accounting expert, ensuring the high-quality Group Reporting for locations in scope. The person will be fully responsible for the bridging of reporting prepared under local accounting standards to IFRS, for timely and correct reporting of accounting figures for assigned entity(ies). The role includes all activities required to ensure group compliance.


Your job and key responsibilities

 

  • Being responsible for Group Reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Corporate Accounting Rules (including bridging of reporting prepared under local standard to IFRS)
  • Being responsible for managing internal controls’ program for entire GBS
  • Being responsible for assuring appropriate data quality and material correctness of the cost center and internal order accounting and reporting for particular locations
  • Being responsible for executing and reviewing agreed internal controls for assigned locations, reporting incompliance to the Manager
  • Being responsible for developing and documenting business processes
  • Managing queries/service requests and escalating non-standard queries to the Team Manager
  • Executing on KPI-data gathering & supporting analysis
  • Participating in projects / improvement initiatives / migrations

 

Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications

 

  • Minimum 4+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Solid general ledger accounting knowledge
  • ACCA/CIMA/CPA in progress
  • Experience in internal controls would be an asset
  • Knowledge about equity reconciliation, bridging between local GAAP and IFRS - as an advance
  • Experience with preparing or auditing Financial Statements/Group Reporting Packages under IFRS and local standards – as an asset
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (advanced Excel skills)
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • English at B2/C1 (another European language is welcome)
  • Being able to work to tight deadlines and with switching priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Mature attitude towards challenges and problem solving - being able to work with limited guidance and able to determine information needed to resolve more complex issues, manage pressure effectively and 
  • cope well with setbacks
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for data interpretation versus simple reporting
  • Taking  ownership  of  assigned  responsibilities,  including  self - learning/researching needed  to  execute  the same
  • Proactive and creative in terms of improving ways of working
  • Team player
