Your new role

 

We are looking for an Lead Buyer (LB) to join our global Corporate Procurement team within raw material and API categories. As our new LB you will work closely with Senior Category Manager - SCM (based at GBS) other team members in Krakow, as well as stakeholders across Lundbeck’s production, including in Denmark, France and Italy. Your key responsibilities will cover:

 

  • Be responsible for assigned activities within the Category areas of Raw Materials & API. Execute on sourcing projects ranging from renegotiations to RFx or complex competitive tenders. Apply category management tools and methodologies in projects under lead;

  • Support Line of Business and key stakeholders in Lundbeck organization under the guidance of Senior Category Managers

  • Support the efficient operation of the Category Team, and actively communicate with the SCM and Line Manager regarding workload and prioritization;

  • Support vendor contract negotiations (prolongations, sustainability addendums, new vendor contracting);

  • Be an all-time ambassador representing Corporate Procurement;

  • Based on needs, that role may require occasional support pre-aligned activities in packaging or contract manufacturing areas;

Corporate Procurement is a global matrix organization consisting of Procurement hubs located in Copenhagen (HQ), Krakow (GBS) and Chicago (Deerfield) all headed up by our global CPO. Our global category teams are to ensure optimal collaboration, outlook and customer support to our +50 affiliates globally, thru efficient source-to-pay process within all areas of indirect and direct spend. Our Procurement professionals work to establish and develop effective category plans and strategies. By our structured approach in planning, project execution and supplier relationship management we aim to create value for Lundbeck organization. Selected candidate for Lead Buyer position will report to Manufacturing & Supply Cluster – Purchasing Director, who is based at HQ Copenhagen.

What you bring to the team

 

Experience that will enable you to be efficient in this role:
 

Category and market understanding: experience and insights in relevant or similar categories. Considerable understanding of category specifications.

Commercial contract facilitation and associated legal acumen: Some experience with contract wording and components (backed up by Legal), basic understanding commercial aspects and associated risks. Familiarity with GDPR or Data Processor terms and their use would be a an asset.

People and business partnering: established through open collaboration and partnering with stakeholders (preferably at the international level). Demonstrated aptitude for work across diversified cultures and company functions. Proven situational adaptability and interpersonal skills.

Sourcing project & RFx: Documented history of effective execution of various sourcing projects

 (procurement process, procurement methodology & tools) considered as tactical or complex, especially in an international environment. Experience with structuring and handling RFx process for relevant areas (incl e-sourcing) would be a plus.

Data analytics: Ability to work with data: formatting, analyzing and processing information related to purchasing dept. Structuring data so it represent valuable source for decisions or conclusions ;

 

Key qualifications and skills we are looking for:

 

  • Higher education (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a relevant field

  • Procurement experience in pharma/raw materials/chemical industries would be an asset

  • Negotiation skills, knowledge of various tools and techniques, and the ability to select and apply these as appropriate, depending on the situation

  • Project lead experience and methodology understanding (relevant certification is a plus)

  • Presentation and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and influence others, build and sustain collaborative relations with stakeholders and peers

  • English language proficiency, both verbal and written, and effective communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI) and identifying levers beyond monetary savings

  • E-sourcing tools experience (Ariba or Coupa) is a plus

  • Business insight, awareness of overlaps, risk exposure, and implications between purchasing activities and other business areas
