Your new role - why is this a great opportunity?
As our R&D Financial Controller, you will perform financial planning, forecasting, reporting and performance management activities for an assigned part of the R&D organization and related projects. You will provide day-to-day business-oriented finance support for your assigned scope, working closely with the Senior Finance Planning & Performance Leading Controller, R&D Finance colleagues and relevant R&D stakeholders. You will translate R&D plans, project developments and operational assumptions into financial impacts, monitor costs, forecasts, resource assumptions, risks and opportunities, and prepare financial analyses, scenario comparisons and trade-off assessments to support project and portfolio decision-making. You will also support project valuation and investment decision materials as required and contribute to improvements in R&D finance processes, systems and ways of working. Complex or strategic matters will be addressed in collaboration with the Senior Finance Planning & Performance Leading Controller and the broader R&D Finance team.
Your future team
You will join the Finance Planning & Performance CoE in Lundbeck GBS Krakow and work closely with the Senior Finance Planning & Performance Leading Controller, R&D Finance colleagues and stakeholders across the R&D organization. Your role will involve regular collaboration with Global Research, R&D, CMC, Group Finance and other Finance teams supporting planning, reporting, valuation and performance management. You will be an individual contributor with responsibility for high-quality delivery within your assigned scope, while receiving day-to-day functional guidance and prioritization support from the Senior Finance Planning & Performance Leading Controller.
What you bring to the team
You are an analytical and curious finance professional who can work independently within an assigned scope while collaborating effectively across Finance and R&D. You bring:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial planning, performance management, controlling, financial analysis, business partnering or decision support.
- Experience within R&D, R&D decision support, R&D Finance and/or financial innovation management, particularly in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, is highly preferred but not required.
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting, reporting and performance analysis at project, cost-center, organizational and/or portfolio level.
- Ability to translate R&D information into financial implications and financial information into practical, business-oriented R&D support.
- Ability to work independently, apply critical judgement and communicate effectively at both high-level and detailed level depending on the audience.
- Experience with planning systems such as Planisware and financial reporting solutions is an advantage; exposure to project valuation, pipeline or portfolio management is also an advantage.
- Relevant Master’s degree in economics, business, finance, engineering or a comparable field.
- Good MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and confidence working with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Proficient spoken and written English.

Annual base salary range:174 100 - 239 470 PLN gross.
