Your Position:

The Business Insights Analyst (BIA) is a strategic, customer-centric analytics partner within the Commercial Business Unit at Lundbeck Canada. The role exists to transform complex data into actionable insights that inform commercial strategy, optimize sales operations, and enhance customer engagement across psychiatry and neurology.

 

The BIA supports sales, marketing, and leadership teams by combining advanced analytics, market understanding, and technology-enabled solutions to drive sustainable brand performance and improved customer experience.  The team collaborates to building forecasts, provides data driven insights to solve business challenges for commercial teams and contributes to customer-centric commercial plans, their effective execution and impact monitoring which all together enables Lundbeck Canada to help patients in psychiatry and neurology and achieve business objectives

 

Reporting to the VP, Commercial Business Unit, the Business Insights Analyst acts as a trusted advisor to Sales and Marketing. The role leverages internal and external data sources, analytics platforms, and emerging technologies (including automation and AI-enabled tools) to support evidence-based decision making.  Key focus areas include Commercial & Sales Analytics, Sales Operations Excellence, Customer & Market Insights, Performance Management & Forecasting Support, Technology-enabled Reporting & Insights Delivery

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical insights that inform brand strategy, planning, forecasting, and leadership decision-making.

Customer & Market Insights

  • Generate customer-centric insights on HCP behavior, adoption, journeys, and channel preferences using primary and secondary data, grounded in field realities and market access dynamics.
  • Integrate market research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for brand and commercial teams.

Sales, Brand & Performance Analytics

  • Deliver sales, brand, field force effectiveness, KPI, and ROI analyses to identify performance drivers, risks, and growth opportunities across commercial initiatives.

Sales Operations & Incentives Excellence

  • Lead sales operations analytics including targeting, alignment, quota setting, incentive design, and compensation calculations, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-governed execution.
  • Continuously improve sales operations efficiency, transparency, and processes.

Analytics Enablement & Capability Building

  • Collaborate with BI and IT to design dashboards, automation, and self-service analytics; leverage advanced analytics and AI where appropriate while championing data quality and best practices.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, standardization, and analytics capability building across the commercial organization.

 

Position Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced training or certification in analytics, data science, or business intelligence is an asset.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in business analytics, commercial analytics, or sales operations.
  • Experience within the Canadian pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting sales teams and commercial decision-making.

 

Essentials skills & capabilities:

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize insights from complex data.
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical sales operations, incentive compensation, and field force effectiveness.
  • Ability to manipulate large, multi-dimensional data sets to answer business questions and make recommendations
  • High proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, BI tools).
  • Experience with IQVIA data and platforms (TSA, CDH, GPM, Xponent, NBRx, Rx Dynamics, PharmaStat, FINDr, and OneKey)
  • Demonstrated technology savviness, including comfort with automation, dashboarding, and emerging analytics tools.
  • Strong data storytelling and presentation skills tailored to executive and field audiences.
  • Bilingual French/English required.
