Lead, Strategic Accounts Neurology (Quebec)

 

Overview

As part of Lundbeck Canada's Patient Access team, the Lead, Strategic Accounts (LSA) will manage relationships with Patient Support Program service providers in the assigned region. This role requires an understanding of Lundbeck’s PSP and how it can best support the needs of prescribers and patients by strengthening partnerships with stakeholders such as infusion vendors, specialty pharmacies, health authorities, and related entities. Additionally, the LSA will identify and implement opportunities for hospital-based administration of Lundbeck’s products within the Neurology portfolio.

Responsibilities

General Oversight of Local Infusion Partners (30%)

  • Manage relationships with regional IV infusion and specialty pharmacy vendors using the Lundbeck Key Account Management model.
  • Develop account strategies, track performance metrics, and seek cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
  • Support periodic negotiations for collaborative agreements and ensure compliance with company Patient Support Program guidelines.

 

Identification and Recruitment of New Local Infusion Partners (30%)

  • Establish relationships with vendors specializing in IV infusion or specialty pharmacy services aligned with Lundbeck’s therapeutic areas.
  • Assess new strategic opportunities and create action plans to engage new partners.
  • Lead contractual agreements with new vendors, ensuring alignment with Lundbeck’s Legal, Compliance, Medical, Trade, Finance, and Analytics requirements.

 

Develop and Execute Strategy for Hospital Based Accounts (20%)

  • Explore opportunities for Lundbeck’s Neurology portfolio in hospital ER setting with key decision makers.
  • Manage accounts with partner institutions, focusing on formulary positioning, business planning, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs to share medical and scientific knowledge with hospital staff

 

Other Opportunities (20%)

  • Explore the prospects of utilizing public healthcare facilities for treatment services.
  • Collaborate with community pharmacies and regional hospitals on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Participate in relevant conferences and industry events to remain up to date with market developments.

 

Position Qualifications

  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales and/or experience as Account Manager (min 5 year).
  • Ability to understand and integrate scientific concepts in communications on product and disease state.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining relationships with health care institutions.
  • Experience in the Neurology market and/or Patient Support Programs would be an asset.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate (verbal & written), present and influence key stakeholders.
  • Good business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently & collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (Veeva) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel, PPT and Word)
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Language: Fluency in French & English (Bilingualism is essential)
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, pharmacy, business, or other related discipline preferred.

 

Working conditions

  • Normal Office conditions: No (field-based role)
  • Incentive Plan: Corporate bonus plan
  • Evening/Weekend commitments: Occasionally
  • % of travel required: 30% (remote interactions encouraged whenever possible).
