We are currently looking for a qualified Manager, External Communications to join the Lundbeck Canada team. This position is permanent full-time and located at our Ville Saint-Laurent head-office. The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications in the US.

Manager, External Communications


Your Position:

The Manager, External Communications is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to raise the corporate profile of Lundbeck Canada in the Canadian Market amongst stakeholders who are in a position to assist us with achieving our goals and working toward our Purpose to restore brain health, so every person can be their best. The position, based in the Montreal head-office, reports to the Sr. Manager, Corporate Communications for our North American operations, who is seated in the US.


Core responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop and execute plans and content to position Lundbeck Canada locally as a leader in brain health, leveraging relevant strategic communication channels.
  • Social Media: In collaboration with several stakeholders, build, implement and manage a local social media presence in line with global social media policy, supporting the reactivation of Lundbeck Canada’s social media footprint
  • Patient Advocacy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop patient-centric disease-related activities in line with the overall reputation strategy; assist stakeholders in building new partnerships with patient communities; ensure representation in pertinent advocacy sponsorships


Additional responsibilities:

  • Relationship Building: Create and maintain a map of relationships with relevant external stakeholders to ensure appropriate external communication.
  • Earned Media: Proactively secure media opportunities and oversee the development of news releases, articles, editorials, publications and other relevant communications products related to corporate branding.
  • Spokesperson: Speak on behalf of Lundbeck Canada to raise the profile of Lundbeck Canada among external stakeholders. Prepare internal subject matter experts to respond effectively to media requests (issue management), patient advocacy strategies and initiatives where strategically appropriate.
  • Agency Collaboration: Collaborate with relevant PR agencies retained by the company.



Position Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years in a similar role in communications including 2-3 years in the pharmaceutical industry ideally
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or any relevant field
  • Demonstrated expertise in the planning and execution of proactive communication campaigns
  • Expert writer, who can balance multiple communications projects
  • Bilingualism is a requirement.
  • Demonstrated success utilizing digital and social media platforms for media relations.
  • Experience advising senior leaders.
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to respond quickly and accurately to requests
  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness with a hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Proficient with the Microsoft office suite
