We have an exciting opportunity for a manager to join our team and lead our Automation and Electrical Engineering department at our production site in Lumsås, Denmark. As the head of our Automation and Electrical Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing strategies that drive automation excellence and ensure high-quality project execution.
Your new role
As a manager, you will:
- Lead and motivate a team of six employees, fostering collaboration and empowerment.
- Develop and implement automation strategies, focusing on Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Manage resources, budgets, and external consultants to ensure efficient project execution.
- Drive compliance with ATEX standards and lead Lean initiatives to optimize processes.
- Support employee development through training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate automation and electrical engineering solutions seamlessly.
Your future team
Automation and Electrical Engineering is part of the Chemical Engineering & Maintenance department. Our team is based at one of Denmark's most beautifully situated production sites in Lumsås, Odsherred. Here, our skilled colleagues produce the majority of the active substances (APIs) in Lundbeck's medicines.
You will lead an Automation and Electrical Engineering team of six internal employees and manage external consultants as needed for specific projects. Our team thrives on a positive spirit, collaboration, and a strong will to succeed in implementing automation strategies and solutions that benefit Lundbeck's production in Lumsås.

What you bring to the team
We are seeking a candidate with strong communication skills to inspire and motivate the team while adapting their approach to diverse needs. The ideal candidate should excel in risk management and decision-making, using both analytical insights and intuition.
You must demonstrate empathy to foster an inclusive environment, paired with integrity to maintain trust and respect. Strategic vision and long-term planning are crucial, along with the ability to identify opportunities and threats. Finally, adaptability and openness to new ideas are key to thriving in dynamic and ever-changing circumstances.
- Educational background in Electrical or Automation Engineering (or proven alternative skills and experience in the field).
- Strong knowledge and experience in automation and electrical engineering, with expertise in ABB and Siemens systems.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategies for DCS systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of Lean principles and ATEX standards.
- Documented leadership experience, preferably with smaller teams (3–5 years managerial experience).
- Practical approach to tasks and flair for documentation.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
