Development Chemist – Process Optimization Laboratory

Are you a highly motivated and skilled chemist who is eager to use your strong chemical knowledge on synthetic challenges – then we have the job for you at Lundbeck’s API production site at Sjællands Odde.

As Development Chemist in the Process Optimization Laboratory, you become part of the department, Chemical Production Development, which comprises 25 highly motivated colleagues who are responsible for synthetic work, development and implementation of processes, analytical method development, and support of the chemical production.

You will have a leading role in the continued development of how chemical production in Lundbeck is conducted.

Your job

As Development Chemist, your role will be combining strong theoretical and practical chemical competencies in organic chemistry to design and develop chemical syntheses, synthesize challenging chemical entities and optimize processes in the laboratory. Together with the process chemists and engineers responsible for the production, you will be generating the chemical knowledge needed for troubleshooting chemical processes in full scale in a timely manner. You will provide technical assistance to your colleagues to transition laboratory experiments to large-scale equipment.

You efficiently document your work in status reports and development reports.

You will work independently on smaller projects and in project teams on larger projects.

Apart from the daily contact with colleagues in the department, you will also enjoy cross-organizational collaboration in a busy and productive environment, which requires strong professional and interpersonal skills.

The close link to the production processes provides a dynamic and changeable environment where every day is different and the ability to adjust is key.

We offer

Lundbeck offers you good development opportunities in an organization that works cross-functionally in an innovative environment. You will be part of a company with an active improvement culture and an ambition to have state-of-the-art know-how within technical facilities, project management and process development in the pharmaceutical industry. For Lundbeck it is the employees and their knowledge, which is our most important asset. Lundbeck offers free and flexible working conditions and opportunities so that the individual can shape his/her own job role.
