Thought Leader Liaison -- Eastern Region

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based non-sales role focused on a regional territory for Vyepti.  Supporting the eastern United States territory (east of the Mississippi River) from Philadelphia or another suitably located eastern-market city, the TLL will play a key role in developing and enhancing relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL).  The TLL must demonstrate a high level of clinical proficiency and customer knowledge.


This individual will have four key responsibilities:

(1)    Engage KOLs and accounts
(2)    Assist in the planning and coordination of efforts for commercial advisory boards and congress activities
(3)    Support the needs of the region’s speaker bureau
(4)    Liaise with marketing, sales, medical affairs, public affairs and market access to drive the brand strategy. 


It will be critical that the TLL work within the approved SOPs and have both experience and knowledge of field and home office protocols and procedures.
•    KOL/account engagement
•    Champion the marketing strategy by having meaningful interactions with KOLs, speakers and key accounts
•    Engage thought leaders in conversations that generate key insights for the brand
•    Work with the leadership team and sales to set up executive encounters with KOLs and key accounts
•    Develop a deep understand of the patient journey as well as referral networks
•    Regularly engage KOLs in discussions about emerging clinical data and disease state information
•    Planning and coordinating commercial advisory boards and congress activities
•    Determine the regional congresses that the brand team will support in collaboration with the Director of Professional Relations
•    Ensure proper planning and budgeting for all regional congress activities
•    Plan and coordinate promotional presence at major medical congresses and symposia
•    Identify relevant thought leaders needed to advise Lundbeck on key topics
•    Coordinate and manage commercial advisory boards in collaboration with the Director of Professional Relations
•    Speaker bureau support
•    Work with sales leadership to identify potential future speakers
•    Ensure speakers in the region are appropriately trained and have the resources needed to conduct successful promotional programs
•    Audit speaker programs to identify frequently asked questions and future training needs
•    Liaise cross-functionally to drive the brand strategy 
•    Work collaboratively with marketing, sales, medical affairs, public affairs and market access to ensure alignment on KOL engagement and key account management to support the brand strategy
•    Deliver solutions to challenges and obstacles
•    Partner with medical affairs to ensure that relevant KOLs are chosen to advise Lundbeck on outcomes research, life cycle management, unmet needs, and other key strategic initiatives
•    Identify collaboration opportunities along with public affairs and patient advocacy to help educate and mobilize the migraine patient community
•    Collaborates with market access to identify areas of opportunity to improve access to Vyepti
•    Accredited Bachelor’s degree
•    7+ years of progressive commercial experience in the U.S. pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
•    Demonstrated analytical, technical and decision-making skills
•    Ability to understand drivers of performance, synthesize and accurately draw conclusions from data and apply results of market research to inform decision making
•    Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, lead, negotiate, present, and work effectively at all levels within a matrix and multi-cultural environment aiming towards strategic alignment for commercial success
•    Demonstrated strategic thinking
•    Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects on track to meet deadlines
•    Able to work independently, with minimal direction
•    Experience influencing without direct authority across cross-functional teams, working effectively in complex situations
•    Advanced degree or MBA preferred
•    Willingness/Ability to travel up to 70% domestically.  International travel may be required.
