Lead, Strategic Accounts (Neurology)
The Lead, Strategic Accounts (LSA) is responsible for establishing, developing, and managing relationships with Lundbeck’s network of Neurology service providers in collaboration with the Primary Patient Support Program. In this role, the LSA will be accountable for understanding client needs and developing strategic plans to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders including hospital decision makers, private IV infusion vendors, speciality pharmacies, and Regional Health authorities.
Location: Ontario (GTA preferred).
Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Strategy for Hospital Based Accounts (50%)
- Identify new opportunities with Ontario provincial hospitals and other settings for acute medication usage.
- Build relationships with key decision makers, influencers, and other hospital stakeholders.
- ongoing account management with partner institutions, including, but not limited to hospital formulary positioning, business planning, demand generation and logistics.
- Collaborate with the Medical Affairs team to support transfer of medical/scientific knowledge to hospital staff.
- Negotiate mutually beneficial contracts to support the Commercial team’s general objectives.
- Adjust tactical plans for each strategic account based on analysis of results and evolving market conditions.
- General Oversight of Local Infusion Partners (30%)
- Manage current relationships with regional private infusion and/or specialty pharmacy vendors.
- Identify and establish new strategic partnerships, as required.
- Assist in the periodic negotiation of terms for continued mutually beneficial collaboration.
- Promote usage of Lundbeck assets as a first position therapy with all stakeholders.
- Other Opportunities (20%)
- Establish Partnerships with provincial Community Health Centers for out-patient treatments.
- Collaborate with local community (non-speciality) pharmacies on ad-hoc basis.
- Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and industry events to enhance brand visibility and stay current with market developments.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, pharmacy, business, or related discipline preferred.
- Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales and/or experience as an Account Manager (minimum 5 years).
- Experience in managing hospital-based accounts with strong knowledge of regional procurement policies.
- Ability to understand and integrate scientific concepts in communications on product and disease state.
- Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining relationships with healthcare institutions.
- Strong communication, business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with CRM software (Veeva) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel, PPT, and Word).
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license.
- English proficiency (bilingualism is an asset).
