Business Intelligence Internship in Group Finance

About the department

You will join a dynamic team functioning as finance partner to the top management team for Product Development and Supply (PDS). PDS is an organisation covering more than 1,000 people across several countries. The finance department is responsible for budgets and controlling, supporting management in setting and reaching financial targets, as well as providing operational input to ensure control of a cost base of about 2 billion kroner. You will be joining the Production Finance team, which has three main responsibilities such as, driving cost optimisations across the organisation, own the budget process incl. monthly reporting and provide financial assessments for strategic decisions.

The position

Production Finance plans to enhance business analytics by upgrading its reporting to BI platforms, including the monthly financial report. You will be part of a project team that takes reporting to the next level, executing on the transformation strategy of the reporting platform in Production Finance.


Work tasks include mapping of data requirements, identification of data holes to ensure that appropriate data structures are in place as well as building data models and visualization for reporting. Moreover, the intern assists in documentation and maintenance of BI reports. 


You will get the opportunity to join an international, high performing unit, which consists of around 50 people. You will work in the Production Finance team in close collaboration with stakeholders from various international departments and across Group Finance.

You will drive and facilitate optimisation projects and initiatives to strengthen processes within the department.

You are expected to support projects owned by the department involving stakeholders across the global organisation.

You will provide insights and material for decisions through financial and strategic analysis.

You will get the opportunity to gain deep insights into a broad range of financial processes, supporting the team in meeting business objectives while keeping good communication with several high level stakeholders.


  • Internship period: 5-6 months
  • Working hours: 37 hours per week
  • Start Date: August/September 2020
  • Non-paid internship


We are looking for an Intern who is passionate about initiating and driving innovative improvements in an international supply chain context. You should be in your first or second year of your Master studies.

You are structured and comfortable with managing your own time and deliverables. You have strong analytical skills, a good eye for details and are driven by data.


You should preferably have a basic understanding of databases and data modelling. Prior experience in BI tools, such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau or preferably SAP BO is an advantage.

As a person you have strong personal drive and dedication. You have professional and personal impact that is reflected in your desire to make a true difference. Furthermore, you are ambitious and enjoy being challenged.

You have strong work ethics and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.
