Laboratory Technician – Analytical Development



We are looking for a dedicated laboratory technician to join our Analytical Development department.
In Analytical Development, we are 24 highly skilled and passionate colleagues who are focused on analytical development from early research support to implementation in our commercial analytical labs. We work closely with our colleagues in Process Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Development to support the small molecule development projects in Lundbeck.


The departments main focus is to support the development project by developing suitable analytical methods as well as performing support, release and stability analyses for all stages in the development of new products. The department works according to GMP and collaborates with many other departments within the company.


The department is part of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Research (CMC development) located in Valby. Our focus in CPR is to support the development of new drug candidates within CNS disease. We strive to develop new innovating treatments to help improve the lives of the patients suffering from these diseases.

Your job and key responsibilities

You will be working in a team of 8 experienced laboratory technicians, and together with the academics in the department your job is to develop and validate analytical methods used for the analysis of new substances and drug products used in clinical trials. You will perform analytical support to other departments as well as control and stability analyses. You will be contributing to developing and maintaining the departments quality systems, instruments and procedures. You are enthusiastic about GMP regulated analyses, development tasks as well as quality related tasks, and enjoys variety in the daily work. Typically, you will get the opportunity to work with several different techniques during a work week.

Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications:

  • You have a background as laboratory technician or similar with experience within analytical chemistry
  • You are experienced within development and validation of chromatographic methods, especially HPLC and GC, and experience with other techniques is appreciated
  • You are interested in working with different analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, KF, TGA, DSC, FTIR, XRPD, particle characterization techniques etc.)
  • You enjoy variation in the daily work tasks and actively contribute to a healthy and pleasant work environment
  • You possess a personal drive, a positive mind-set and enjoys solving problems and learn new things.  
  • You are systematic and thorough and deliver high quality results
  • You have flair for administrative tasks, such as writing work instructions, updating databases, QC check etc.
  • You work independently, but still enjoy working in close collaboration with colleagues in the department
  • You speak, read and write Danish fluently, and have a good understanding of spoken and written English
  • You have at least 2 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry or similar practical knowledge of GMP
